Run for Autism Half Marathon was founded and organised by a group of volunteers who have a passion for running, a love for the Island of Cyprus and a dedication for supporting and creating awareness for those affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder. After volunteering in various sporting events, to raise money for Autism Support Famagusta, an idea was born to create our very own running event in Ayia Napa.

The first Race (5k & 10Km) took place in 2022, after only 6 weeks of planning and organising.  We were expecting a moderately small event. The turnout on the day exceeded all our expectations with almost 1,000 participants! The atmosphere, sense of community and positive energy was truly exceptional!

In 2023 we had almost 2,000 participants and we are very excited to add a Half Marathon distance (21km) in 2024!

Our event is created with LOVE and you can feel it on the day!!!.  The date is always the Sunday closest to April 2nd which is WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY.  A huge part of our goal is to raise awareness and promote inclusion for those affected by Autism.

Run for Autism is a 100% charity event, and everyone involved works on a volunteer basis.  All of the proceeds of this event will go to Autism Support Famagusta and particularly towards the running costs of the Smile Project in Sotira.

The Smile Project is a specialised Day Centre for young adults, over the age of 21 who are on the Autism Spectrum. This centre relies largely on fundraising and donations from the public for its day to day running. This centre provides invaluable support and relief to families affected by Autism.

We would like to thank everyone to has contributed, volunteered, supported, sponsored and participated in Run for Autism.  None of this would be possible without you!  See you on March 31st!!!  😊
